At the market price at the end of May, it was 3,700 yen with liver soup and pickles. It may be safe for inquiries directly to the store under this soaring ...
I think it's a branch
Delicious, eel tastes very delicious
If you have no patience, don’t come as I waited for more than one hour after order and it’s not peak hours. May be the chef was tired and need to rest for a while.
Better visit before noon, otherwise may needa queue up for quite a long time. As the dish takes 30mins to prepare. ðŸ‘ðŸ»Steamed grilled eel taste good. YUM! What a pity the Sakura🌸 not yet open outside the window.
Worth the wait! Great food and nice staff
nice food, nice staff and elegant place
Most delicious eel rice I have ever hadThough the price is a bit high, it is definitely worth a tryBe sure to reserve at least 1.5hours for the food to be prepared, we waited for more than 45mins for the food to come. The Japanese architecture is very old and in good shape with more than 300 years of history.Be sure to follow Japanese tradition and rules in the house. You can smell eel in the house. They have parking spaces of about 30.
One of the staff is not friendly. The English menu is not really "English", it's just a lot of romanji. It's hard to understand the English menu if you don't know Japanese. The foods are good. If you just want to try the famous dish, just order the"Seiromushi"(with set menu(teishoku) or not). Do not order anything more expensive than that.
Delicious. It takes too much time preparing for food, though. I recommend seiromushi only, not 定食(teishoku). 定食 includes some additional ã†ãªãŽ with vinegar and nothing else.
300 year old+ charcoal eel rice restaurant~ the special eel rice set have 5 PCs of eel in it~ and one is hidden in between the rice~~ must try if you in the area~~
No doubt this 300 years history restaurant. Arrived by 1030am and there is a queue already. We have steamed and torch ( kabayaki) eels. They all taste good and fresh!! Highly recommended to visit if you visit Fukuoka area. 1.5 hours drive from Fukuoka city to the restaurant by toll highway.
Famous for steamed eel. We were lucky to arrive at 12pm so no need to wait. It tastes excellent but pricey.
Very delicious unagi (eels), unfortunately the English menu didn't help, but fortunately the server's can speak English to explain.Don't go on an empty stomach, they make everything fresh. Expect to queue for about 15mins and another 30mins for food.I would say the unagi is well worth the wait
The best one I have ever tried so far.
Came early on lunch time with group on winter time under drizzling rain after river boat trip. We were wet and hungry and the smell of the unagi being grilled with smokes coming out from the establishment was like heaven-sent. It's the best Unagi for me. Tasty and grilled to perfection. The rice under strips of Unagi was a tad too much but since I was hungry, everything get gobbled up. Excellent food.
If you are a fan of Unagi don, this restaurant is worthy of a visit. 300 years of heritage, a recipe that's been passed down generations. We ordered both their popular charcoal/steam Unagi don, as well as their kabayaki sauce Unagi don. The ell is firm and fresh, unlike typical Japanese restaurant back home. Flavor wise, go for the more expensive charcoal and steam unagi don. The kabayaki sauce is a bit too typical of usual Japanese restaurant.
The food is delicious, truly 1st class but with 1st class price. Prepare your wallets but it's worth the experience.
Must Try!!
Very popular (had to wait about 1 hour), but the food was definitely worth the wait (at least for me). The eel has been grilled and steamed and served on bed of rice. Very tender
The waiting was quite long, (almost one hour) but it was definitely worth it.Great customer even with the pressure of be busy, testy and texture perfect Really suggest it
A great box of steamed eel. The restaurant has more of an appearance of a house and when you enter you get that feeling as well as you remove your shoes in exchange for slippers. The hostess then guides you to a private room where you can enjoy your carefully prepared unagi in solitude. (However, if you have a noisy group next door the paper walls will not give much noise dampening.) The service and meal were wonderful.
They are famous for eel cusines. Steam dinner sets starts 4,400 yen/ person. Fried sets around 3,700 yen. Both are good. Many tourist go there. Not much restaurants nearby. Street is very quiet at night time.
Food taste good. Experience wasn't so good. Que up for 1 hour. Order food and waited for another hour.
I don't recommend you if you want to eat steamed eel on the rice. This restaurant has long history from supplying dishes over 300 years. Many foreigners have been coming here to enjoy real Washoku. However their waitresses are not so kindness. They can not accept a credit cards. I think they are luck of hospitality for customers! By the way I am Japanese. Have a nice Japan trip!
A stunning 300 years eel house, absolutely delicious
Quite expensive, probably OK just to try out the original unagi rice.
Grilled eel don is a must try.
Good
Tasty eel meal but can be a bit pricey
Delicious and traditional Japanese roast eels rice. A bit expensive but worth to try. ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
Very great dishes and atmosphere!!
Traditional grilled eel in a truly traditional Japanese restaurant, complete with tatami seating on the floor and an outlook Japanese garden. You will smell the eel just when you are approaching the restaurant. English menu available and cash only. Come here early to avoid the queue!
I heard a lot of good things about this place based on the reviews. The history and the feel of the location really put you in the mood for eel. There's even a hint of roasted eels in the air. However, the wait is pretty ridiculous. We sat for about two hours and it took us 20mins, tops, to eat. So yeah... It's more about the experience than the taste I guess
Quite delicious Unagi (eel) Seiromushi (steamed rice) in Japan. Cash only.
Delicious but expensive. The seats are not very comfortable.
Bad food rude service. Come here if you hate your life.
The best eel rice in Japan! It is filled with source n rice is still hot at the end! So yummy! Drive every time to eat this!
Waiting time is a little bit long. The unagi is delicious but very expensive!
Amazing yummy steam unagi rice!!!! Located in this beautiful Japanese style house. The unagi is so tasty and all the sauce been absorbed into the rice since it is steamed together. They have a couple other dishes if unagi, but we all went for the most famous dishJust FYI they have minimum 1 main dish order per person, so you can't share. There is also parking right beside the building for those who are driving
Nice restaurant
You have to prepare yourself being humiliated as foreigners are not welcomed deep down in the heart of the staff.Services to foreigners speaking non-japanese are definitely sub-optimal.
Yummy
Truly authentic Japanese unagi restaurant in Yanagawa. I recommend it highly as experiencing the genuine taste and history.
Your can taste traditional Japanese eel steam rice with overturned carbon taste. The decorations are classic
The best eel rice bowl ever. The tasty sauce is not only there for grilled eel but absorbed by all the rice which make it very juicy and delicious. We came here for dinner on weekday and it is kind of quiet and the lady serving us is very helpful though she speaks little English.
Long wait. Super expensive. Incredible food.
Well, I would NOT recommend this place. 1. high price 2. NOTHING SPECIAL when it comes to the taste3. Credit card is not available. I had to pay 20000 yen in CASH. OMG.4. The server(owner?) had somewhat icy attitude. I thought Japanese people would be kind and gentle, but it turned out to be a stereotype.Don't forget you can eat better-tasting food at a lower price if you visit other reataurants.
Good Food
We waited for ONE hour but got nothing! Bad attitude and service
Nice place, friendly service, delicious traditional Japanese eel rice!! But it takes quite a while for them to serve it out, you can enjoy the nice decoration while waiting. Quite expensive but definitely worth it!!
The wait for the food to arrive was a bit long. Rice was good but for me a lack of favor
Delicious and good environment
